Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) allows you to treat problem areas such as the forehead, lower/upper lid, lips and neck areas that fillers and Botox® injections do not allow for correction.

  • PRP pairs perfectly with micro needling and can be combined with fillers.
  • Skin rejuvenation: Face, neck, chest, and hands
  • Post acne scars, post traumatic scars and surgery scars
  • Immediate results with growth and repair continuing for up to 6-8+ weeks after these injections, the result is new, healthy tissue that is permanent

Platelets are the body’s healing agents/growth factors.

Platelet-rich fibrin matrix, also known as platelet-rich plasma, contains high levels of platelets that work to repair and regenerate damaged tissues and stimulate circulation in the treated area. When used as a hair regrowth treatment, PFRM is injected into the scalp and works to repair damaged hair follicles and stimulate circulation that brings vital nutrients to the hair follicles. This prompts ageing thinning hair follicles to be more robust back to their natural state.

PRP is exceedingly safe and non allergenic – there are no serious patient safety issues. PRP

  • produces healthy, native, robust tissue.
  • can help induce healing and regeneration for any type of tissue degeneration or damage for any skin type.
  • is convenient- these treatments can easily be incorporated and paired with existing treatments within our med spa.
  • naturally promotes and creates new permanent soft tissues based upon what your body dictates as damaged skin needing repair.

It is also effective for skin rejuvenation and tightening around the eyes (for thin crepe-like skin and fine lines) and in the following areas: cheeks and mid face, thinning skin on the neck, jawline and submalar regions, back of hands, décolleté, and others (e.g, knees, elbows, and upper arms, as well as for post-pregnancy skin laxity).

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a new and natural procedure that uses your body’s own plasma to stimulate hair follicles encouraging new hair regrowth, and hence the reduction of balding.

The PRP Hair Loss Treatment involves creating micro needling wounds in the scalp treatment area with the needling device. Platelet Rich Plasma, containing concentrated amounts of growth factors, is then injected into the scalp. As the skin begins its wound-healing process, these growth factors are present in the follicular bulge area where stem cells are found. This activates the proliferative phase of the hair cycle, resulting in new, denser and healthier hair growth.

How many treatments will I need?

We typically recommend at least three months of hair regrowth treatments in order to achieve optimal results. During your consultation, we will review your specific case and goals of treatment and recommend the appropriate treatment plan for you. Multiple treatment sessions may be necessary in order to achieve your aesthetic goals. Results may vary from patient to patient depending on the severity of hair loss.
